外装は建設当時の趣のまま残存しておりますが、内装はほぼ洋風に全面リニューアル済で、非常に綺麗です。外装は、瓦屋根、家屋の主支柱は一本もの極太ヒノキ木使用。廊下床は全面本木（現在でも傷みは全く見られません）。建設当時、最高の木造大工を10名近く雇い、建立時は近辺一番の家屋と言われておりました。50年を経た現在でも、その当時の木技術と何より最高の日本の素材を惜しげもなく使用したその形跡はやはり圧巻で、損傷の欠片もみられません。良いものは長く根付くという現実を目の当たりにできます。
